Jose Quintana had a rough outing on Friday, allowing eight earned runs on ten hits and one walk while striking out two over just 2 2/3 innings in the Mets' 10-8 loss to the Rays.
Fantasy Impact:
This performance further inflates his already elevated ERA to 5.20 and WHIP to 1.54 for the season. Given these numbers, along with a modest strikeout rate of 6.2 K/9, Quintana's fantasy relevance is dwindling. His inability to limit hits and runs significantly undermines his utility in all but the deepest of leagues. Fantasy managers should consider other options, as his current form and underlying metrics suggest limited upside.
