Bryce Elder stumbles against Dodgers

by Chris Schommer | Braves Correspondent | Sun, May 5th 6:22am EDT

Bryce Elder had a rough outing, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four over 3 1/3 innings in Saturday's 11-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact:

This performance has certainly inflated his ERA to 5.28 and WHIP to 1.76 for the season, which are troubling indicators for fantasy managers. His strikeout rate remains low at 5.9 K/9, and a high BABIP of .348 suggests some bad luck, though not enough to ignore the underlying issues. Elder's control has been a concern, as evidenced by his 1.25 strikeout-to-walk ratio and today's four walks. Moving forward, fantasy managers should be wary of starting him in their lineups, especially against high-scoring teams.
