The Astros claimed Cronin off waivers from the White Sox earlier in the offseason but he becomes the 40-man roster casualty to make room for Trey Cabbage who was acquired via trade on Wednesday. The righty posted a 9.00 ERA in 11 innings as part of his MLB debut with Chicago in 2023 while also posting a solid 3.83 ERA in 47 outings at the Triple-A level.
