Fantasy Impact
Fleming will likely serve as the opener with Quinn Priester, who was the original starter, likely to back up Fleming. Fantasy managers should expect Priester to see the bulk of the innings Wednesday.
The Pirates and Josh Fleming are in agreement on a split contract.
Fantasy Impact
Fleming will earn $850,000 if he’s in the majors. He reportedly drew interest from a few teams, and figures to be in a swingman role with Pittsburgh after spending the past four seasons in Tampa Bay.
Josh Fleming (elbow) has been activated from the 60-day IL.
Fantasy Impact
Fleming has been out since the end of May due to left elbow soreness. He ultimately did not undergo surgery and has worked himself back to be able to get on the mound for the Rays. He did not work up to a full starter's workload, so he is likely going to pitch out of the bullpen.
Rays pitcher Josh Fleming is set to see an elbow specialist as his injury may be more serious than originally thought.
Fantasy Impact
A recent MRI that was sent to Dr. Keith Meister raised concerns and Fleming has been summoned to meet with the elbow specialist in person amidst growing concerns his injury could be serious. Fleming even noted that it could be a ligament issue that could require Tommy John surgery in a worst-case scenario. The left-hander hasn't pitched since giving up eight earned runs to the Dodgers on May 28. He owns a 4.62 ERA in 11 outings (three starts) spanning 48 2/3 innings this season.
