The St. Louis Cardinals have designated reliever Ryan Tepera for assignment to clear roster space for the return of Tyler O'Neill (back).

It appears his Cardinals tenure will come to a halt after just two appearances while the veteran surrendered two earned runs, one homer, and one walk against one strikeout in that time.

Tepera was rocked for a 7.27 ERA in 10 outings with the Angels earlier this season but tossed eight scoreless innings across seven appearances at Triple-A with the Rangers. He will surely attract interest for a contender in need of bullpen help in the season's second half given his career 3.59 ERA across 371 appearances.
